Creativity and imagination are what distinguishes humans from all other species. There is no better way to flex your creative instincts than to do art, be exposed to art, and to think about art.

“Creation from nothing” is an absolute myth. Creativity is about combinations. Every song you’ve ever heard, book you’ve ever read and art you’ve ever seen is composed of sounds, words and colors that exist in abundance. Individual artistic expression comes from combining elements in unique ways.

Unlike bad art—which is simply bad combinations and poor choices—great art resonates with the power of superior combinations and experienced, expert choices. Great art pushes beyond the merely useful and reaches for a genuine aesthetic.
