Cherokee Spirit
My work here uses Cherokee visual cues to represent the Great Spirit. The Cherokee are Native Americans indigenous to the Appalachias. They believe that spiritual beings can come in the form of animal or human and are considered a part of daily life. The Great Spirit, however, is the “maker of all things” and “the one who lives above.” The Great Spirit is not personified as having human characteristics or a physical human form.
